Historian, columnist, and author Alexander Hall Lujardo has been subjected to “permanent harassment” by the State Security agencies since July 2023, when he was officially prohibited from leaving Cuba. On September 18, 2024, Lujardo received a summons to appear at Villa Marista the following day. After several hours of interrogation, he was released. Lujardo subsequently took to Facebook, where he denounced what he called a “new escalation of repression” against him.
