Tran Quynh Vi

Tran Quynh Vi is the co-founder and executive director of Legal Initiatives for Vietnam (LIV), a nonprofit organization co-founded with Pham Doan Trang. She specializes in freedom of expression and criminal justice in Vietnam and advocates for the abolition of the death penalty. In 2023, she graduated from Columbia University’s masters program in journalism. She heads The Vietnamese Magazine, an English publication and project of LIV that covers law, politics, and advocacy in Vietnam. Until 2015, Tran Quynh Vi worked as a litigation lawyer in California.
