Phil Klay

Phil Klay is a novelist, essayist, and Marine Corps veteran of the Iraq War. His short story collection Redeployment won the 2014 National Book Award for Fiction and his novel Missionaries was named one of the best books of the year by both the Wall Street Journal and former President Barack Obama. His essays have appeared in The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, the New Yorker, and elsewhere. He currently teaches writing at Fairfield University.
