Mary Morris is a writer and educator. Her first collection of short stories, Vanishing Animals & Other Stories, was awarded the Rome Prize in Literature from the American Academy and Institute of Arts & Letters. Morris’ travel memoirs include Nothing to Declare: Memoirs of a Woman Traveling Alone and The River Queen. She has published five novels: The Waiting Room, The Night Sky (formerly published as A Mother’s Love) and House Arrest, Revenge, and Acts of God. She lives in Brooklyn, New York and teaches writing at Sarah Lawrence College.
