Matvei Yankelevich is the translator of Today I Wrote Nothing: The Selected Writings of Daniil Kharms (Overlook/Ardis) and co-translator of the National Translation Award-winning An Invitation for Me to Think by Alexander Vvedensky (NYRB Poets). He has published two books of poetry—Some Worlds for Dr. Vogt (Black Square), Alpha Donut (United Artists)—and a prose-poem novella, Boris by the Sea (Octopus). He is a founding editor of Ugly Duckling Presse, where he edits the Eastern European Poets Series. He has taught at Columbia University, Hunter College, and Wesleyan University, and is a member of the writing faculty at the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College.
