Lulia Pan is a Junior at The University of Texas at Austin studying International Relations, Journalism, and East Asian Studies. She became interested in the topic of free speech and expression from her background living in Saudi Arabia and China for five years. Her research interests include privacy, technology, and human rights in a global context. On campus, she is part of the Global Disinformation Lab (GDIL) where she does research on cybersecurity in the pacific region, and an undergraduate research assistant for Landlord Tech Watch, a project that maps how and where property technologies are deployed that automate processes of eviction and gentrification. In her free time, she can be found playing video games, cooking, or reading.
