Leo Goldberg is an intern for PEN’s journalism and digital safety teams. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, he is a rising sophomore at Duke University studying Political Science and History. He serves as the guest column editor for Duke’s student newspaper The Chronicle, plays violin in the Duke Symphony Orchestra, and helped conduct research as an assistant through Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy on the impact of civil wars on health, education, and infrastructure of countries around the world. He has also been a contributing writer to Duke’s Big Ideas Magazine The Lemur. In the future, he hopes to become a foreign correspondent reporting on geopolitical events in the Middle East.
