Kimberly Thomas is the Chief Operating Officer at PEN America. She has dedicated her career supporting the fight for our democracy, women’s rights, and criminal and racial justice reform. Thomas streamlined and re-engineered the operational and financial processes at the Brennan Center for Justice, Planned Parenthood, and most recently at the Drug Policy Alliance as COO. At DPA, she conceptualized and implemented a sustainable, automated transformation of the entire administrative function.
Earlier in her career, Thomas worked in the corporate sector at PepsiCo, Dun & Bradstreet and Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank). She also ran her own children’s consignment franchise in the New York metropolitan area.
Thomas earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in management from Rutgers University.
