Ken Meyers has been incarcerated in Pennsylvania since 2010, where he works as a Certified Peer Specialist. He hopes his writing will call attention to the treatment of people living with mental illness in a carceral environment. He was awarded First Prize in Essay and First Place in Poetry for the 2024 PEN Prison Writing Awards.
