John Haskell is the author of the short-story collection I Am Not Jackson Pollock and the novels American Purgatorio and Out of My Skin. His stories and essays have appeared on the radio (The Next Big Thing), in books (The Show You’ll Never Forget, Heavy Rotation), and in magazines (including A Public Space, n+1, Conjunctions, and McSweeney’s). He is a recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship, a NYFA grant, fellowships from MacDowell, Yaddo and Civitella Ranieri. He’s taught at Columbia University, Cal Arts, and the University of Leipzig. He currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
