John Ralston Saul is a Canadian essayist, novelist, and President of International PEN.
His 15 books include Voltaire’s Bastards: The Dictatorship of Reason in the West and The Unconscious Civilization. The Collapse of Globalism: And the Reinvention of the World predicted the economic crisis of 2007. His books have been translated into 22 languages in 30 countries.
Saul has received many national and international awards, including Chile’s Pablo Neruda Medal, Canada’s Governor General’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction, and in 2010, South Korea’s Manhae Grand Prize for Literature.
