Jeffery L. Chapman

Jeffery L. Chapman is a prisoner in the state of Minnesota serving a life sentence. Imprisoned at age of 21, he is now 53 years old. A lifelong martial artist, Chapman spends his time practicing his skill-set, and from time to time takes on a student. He continues to fight for his freedom in the courts and hopes for a positive outcome. “The person innocent of the crime deserves his freedom, but the person who committed the crime also deserves a second chance if he/she has made a sincere change in their lives,” he says.

Chapman is politically conscious and cares greatly about the state of the world—and this country’s society as well. He considers himself a disciple of Noam Chomsky. Chapman reads George Orwell’s Animal Farm and 1984, and Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles once every year for their prophetic content.
