Jazilah Salam

Program Coordinator, Digital Safety and Free Expression

Jazilah Salam is the program coordinator for digital safety and free expression at PEN America. She has also served as a research assistant for the Technology and Social Change Project (TaSC) at Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy, where she worked on their Newsleader Program and Media Manipulation Casebook. Hailing from Bangladesh, she has engaged in human rights advocacy and development work in the South Asian country and worldwide through internships at BRAC, The Hunger Project, and Children’s Rights. She graduated cum laude from Barnard College with a BA in political science and human rights.
