Elissa Schappell is the author of two books of fiction: Use Me, runner up for the PEN/Hemingway Award, and Blueprints for Building Better Girls, chosen as one of the best books of the year by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and O. Her fiction, essays, and nonfiction have appeared in a number of magazines and anthologies. She is a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, former senior editor of The Paris Review, and a founding editor, now editor-at-large, of Tin House. She teaches in the MFA creative writing programs at Columbia and NYU.
