Daniel Shapiro is the author of The Red Handkerchief and Other Poems (2014), and the translator of Cipango, by Chilean poet Tomás Harris (2010; starred review, Library Journal). He has received translation fellowships from PEN and the National Endowment for the Arts. He worked for many years as Director of Literature at the Americas Society, where he presented numerous writers, scholars, and translators and published their work in Review: Literature and Arts of the Americas. Shapiro is currently a Distinguished Lecturer at The City College of New York, CUNY, where he continues as Editor of Review: Literature and Arts of the Americas, which, beginning in 2016, is published by Routledge in association with CCNY.
