Christian Omoruyi is the Government Affairs Liaison at PEN America, where he supports the government relations work of the organization’s Washington, D.C. office. Prior to joining PEN America, Christian interned at the Hudson Institute, where he provided research support on democratic backsliding in Europe, European security and defense policy, and transatlantic trade relations. Christian also interned at the Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations, supporting its congressional priorities on religious freedom, human rights, and foreign assistance, and Stand Up Republic, a pro-democracy organization where he assisted the organization’s cross-partisan initiatives to strengthen the underpinnings of American democracy. Christian graduated with honors from American University in December 2021 with a BA in international studies. He has collaborated extensively with human rights activists and facilitated dialogues with recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize.
