Chaitanya Venkateswaran is a junior at American University pursuing a bachelor’s degree as an EGLS scholar in International Studies and Economics, and certificate programs in Advanced Leadership Studies and Political Thought. She is passionate about issues of sustainable economic empowerment and rights literacy in the developing world. Having spent the first 19 years of her life in India, she is also a trained classical dancer in Bharatanatyam, art enthusiast and bibliophile, with a belief in free expression and debate as the path to understanding and solving most issues. She aims to pursue a career in international economic development, with an interest in working at the intersection of research and active policy-making.
