Carmen Aristegui has been a conductor, interviewer, and commentator on television and radio shows and has participated as a moderator and lecturer at academic forums in Mexico and abroad.
Aristegui was awarded the National Prize for Journalism in 2001 and in 2005. In 2010 she received the distinction again for the interview she conducted with ex-president of Mexico, Miguel de la Madrid. Aristegui is also the recipient of the Maria Moors Cabot Prize from Columbia University, and the Ondas Iberoamerican Prize, among other distinctions.
Carmen Aristegui is the author of Uno de dos and Transición: Conversaciones y retratos de lo que se hizo y se dejo de hacer por la democracia de Mexico. Currently, she directs and conducts the morning radio show MVS News on MVS Radio; hosts her own show Carmen Aristegui on CNN in Spanish; and writes for Reforma.
