Ann Vettikkal

Summer 2022 Free Expression Leadership Fellow, USA

Ann Vettikkal (she/her) is a rising sophomore at Columbia University studying Literature, Language, and Political Science. At Columbia, she is part of WKCR-FM, Columbia’s student run radio broadcast, where she programs for the News, Arts, Indian Classical, and Hip-Hop programs. She is also a staff writer for The Eye, a long-form journalism magazine. Aside from these activities, Ann is the founder of the “I Can Write a Story” Program, a nonprofit organization founded in Cincinnati, Ohio with the mission to empower underserved students to express their voices and publish their stories. She also plays the veena, a South Indian Classical instrument, writes creatively, and plays soccer.
