Aaron Flaherty is the author of Reshaping the Texas Prison System for Better Public Safety: An Inside View from a Texas Lifer (2022), and the co-author of “Hope and Help: Peer Support and Peer-Led Programs within Texas Prisons,” which will be published in the 10th volume of the DCS Handbook on Corrections and Sentencing in 2024. He was awarded Third Place in Drama in the 2024 PEN Prison Writing Awards for his short screenplay “Unpromised.” His work has been published in multiple criminal justice blogs, and it has been reviewed and covered by The Marshall Project.
