Iranian Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi has received a series of serious threats to her safety and life from agents affiliated with the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Intelligence. The Free Narges Coalition Steering Committee has received this information and is highly concerned that these threats from both direct and indirect sources pose a grave risk to Mohammadi, and call on the Iranian authorities to ensure her security.
The recent series of threats, which started on 13 June, occurred in the context of the war between Israel and Iran from 13 to 25 June 2025 and a wider crackdown on activists and dissenting voices, which have recently been covered by Front Line Defenders, PEN America, the UN experts, and others.
Narges Mohammadi received indirect threats including to her life and safety from the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence (MOI) on the 19, 21, and 25 June 2025. In one instance, they informed the woman human rights defender via an ex-inmate that they are aware of intelligence regarding “rogue actors,” not run or controlled by the MOI, who are looking for Mohammadi’s whereabouts and intend to “waste” her when they find her. Mohammadi also received another message from the MOI via another friend (for the third time via indirect channels) that there is an ongoing project to “eliminate her.”
On 7 July 2025, Mohammadi’s lawyer received a phone call from the MOI warning the human rights defender against conducting media interviews, mobilizing rights groups, publishing statements, and other human rights and freedom of speech activities. They threatened Mohammadi with a “different approach” this time and asked her lawyer to relay the message to her that there will be no more “Islamic compassion” dealing with her going forward.
In early July 2025, human rights defenders and friends of Narges Mohammadi were summoned by the MOI and were threatened with arrest and prison for themselves and their family members, should they continue to provide her with shelter and company.
The Free Narges Coalition Steering Committee said: “The recent threats against Narges Mohammadi mark a dramatic escalation in the tactics used to silence one of Iran’s most prominent voices of conscience and defender of human rights. The right of all Iranians to be able to speak out freely, to call for peace, and to highlight the grave threats to political prisoners and all civilians during a time of war should not make them a target. We strongly urge the Iranian authorities to extend assurances that Mohammadi’s security will be made a high priority, and that her life and safety are not at risk. Moreover, we continue to call for Mohammadi’s unconditional freedom given that she has been unjustly imprisoned for her free expression and human rights work. It is the responsibility of all states and the international community to commit to protecting human rights defenders in the context of the escalation.”
The Nobel laureate has been on a suspension of her prison sentence since December 2024 following surgery in mid-November, in accordance with recommendations from her doctors that she be granted an extended leave in order to recover from the surgery, conduct monitoring of a bone lesion in her leg, and receive specialized cardiac care and treatment for other longstanding conditions which have been exacerbated by her extended periods of incarceration. Since her temporary release in early December, Mohammadi has been targeted by a state-backed online harassment and disinformation campaign pushing for her to be returned to jail – or even sent to a prison outside Tehran with unhygienic living conditions – in retaliation for her continuous human rights work, activism, and writing while she has been temporarily freed.
Narges Mohammadi is a human rights defender, author, journalist, and deputy director and spokesperson of the Defenders of Human Rights Centre (DHRC) in Iran. Mohammadi has spent more than 10 years of her life in prison, most recently from November 2021 to December 2024, in relation to sentences totalling more than 13 years on charges including committing “propaganda activity against the state” and “collusion against state security.” She is the recipient of numerous international awards for her tireless struggle for human rights, including the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize, the 2023 UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize, the 2023 PEN/Barbey Freedom to Write Award, and the 2022 Reporters Without Borders Prize for Courage.

مجموعهای از تهدیدات علیه نرگس محمدی همزمان با تشدید فشارها و ارعاب عوامل وابسته به حکومت
نرگس محمدی، برنده ایرانی جایزه نوبل، در هفتههای اخیر با مجموعهای از تهدیدات جدی علیه امنیت و جان خود از سوی عوامل وابسته به وزارت اطلاعات جمهوری اسلامی ایران روبهرو شده است. کمیته راهبری ائتلاف «آزادی نرگس» این اطلاعات را دریافت کرده و به شدت نگران است که این تهدیدات، چه مستقیم و چه غیرمستقیم، خطری جدی برای جان و امنیت محمدی ایجاد کرده و از مقامات جمهوری اسلامی میخواهد امنیت او را تضمین کنند.
این سلسله تهدیدات که از ۲۳ خرداد ۱۴۰۴ آغاز شده، در بستر جنگ میان اسرائیل و ایران از ۲۳ خرداد تا ۴ تیر ۱۴۰۴ و همچنین سرکوب گستردهتر فعالان و صداهای منتقد رخ داده که اخیراً توسط سازمانهایی مانند فرانت لاین دیفندرز، انجمن قلم آمریکا، کارشناسان سازمان ملل و دیگران گزارش شده است.
نرگس محمدی در تاریخهای ۲۹ و ۳۱ خرداد و ۴ تیر ۱۴۰۴ تهدیدات غیرمستقیم، از جمله تهدید به حذف فیزیکی و آسیب، از سوی وزارت اطلاعات جمهوری اسلامی ایران دریافت کرده است. در یکی از موارد، این مدافع حقوق بشر از طریق یکی از همبندان سابق خود مطلع شد که وزارت اطلاعات از برخی «عناصر خودسر» که تحت کنترل وزارت نیستند و به دنبال یافتن محل اقامت او برای «نفله کردن» او هستند، مطلع است. همچنین محمدی بار دیگر از طریق یکی از دوستانش (برای سومین بار از طریق کانالهای غیرمستقیم) پیام دیگری دریافت کرد مبنی بر اینکه پروژهای برای «حذف» او در جریان است.
در تاریخ ۱۶ تیر ۱۴۰۴، وکیل محمدی تماسی تلفنی از وزارت اطلاعات دریافت کرد که در آن مدافع حقوق بشر را از انجام مصاحبههای رسانهای، بسیج گروههای حقوق بشری، انتشار بیانیه و سایر فعالیتهای مرتبط با حقوق بشر و آزادی بیان برحذر داشتند. در این تماس، تهدید کردند که این بار «برخورد متفاوتی» در پیش خواهند گرفت و به وکیل او پیام دادند که دیگر «رافَت اسلامی» شامل حال او نخواهد شد.
در اوایل تیرماه ۱۴۰۴ نیز مدافعان حقوق بشر و دوستان نرگس محمدی توسط وزارت اطلاعات احضار و تهدید شدند که در صورت ادامه حمایت، میزبانی یا همراهی با او، خود و خانوادهشان با بازداشت و زندان مواجه خواهند شد.
کمیته راهبری ائتلاف «آزادی نرگس» اعلام کرد: «تهدیدات اخیر علیه نرگس محمدی بیانگر تشدید جدی تاکتیکهای حکومت برای خاموش کردن یکی از برجستهترین صداهای وجدان بیدار و مدافعان حقوق بشر در ایران است. حق همه مردم ایران برای بیان آزادانه، دعوت به صلح و هشدار درباره خطرات جدی برای زندانیان سیاسی و همه غیر نظامیان در زمان جنگ نباید بهانهای برای هدفگیری آنها باشد. ما قویاً از مقامات جمهوری اسلامی میخواهیم که تضمین کنند امنیت محمدی در بالاترین سطح تأمین شده و جان و سلامتی او در معرض خطر نباشد. علاوه بر این، همچنان خواهان آزادی فوری و بدون قید و شرط محمدی هستیم، چرا که او صرفاً به دلیل بیان آزادانه عقاید و فعالیتهای حقوق بشریاش ناعادلانه زندانی شده است. همه دولتها و جامعه بینالمللی مسئولیت دارند در این شرایط بحرانی، متعهد به حمایت از مدافعان حقوق بشر باشند.»
برنده جایزه نوبل صلح از آذر ۱۴۰۳ پس از جراحی در آبان ماه همان سال با نظر پزشکان مبنی بر لزوم مرخصی طولانیمدت جهت بهبود جراحی بر روی یک ضایعه استخوانی در پایش و دریافت مراقبتهای تخصصی قلب و درمان بیماریهای مزمنی که به دلیل سالها زندان تشدید شدهاند، در وضعیت تعلیق حکم حبس بهسر میبرد. از زمان آزادی موقت او در آذر ۱۴۰۳، محمدی هدف یک کارزار سازمانیافته آزار و اذیت آنلاین و انتشار اطلاعات نادرست از سوی عوامل حکومتی قرار گرفته که خواهان بازگرداندن او به زندان یا انتقال او به زندانی در خارج از تهران با شرایط غیربهداشتی بودهاند؛ اقدامی تلافیجویانه علیه ادامه فعالیتهای حقوق بشری، کنشگری و نوشتن او در این مدت آزادی موقت.
نرگس محمدی، مدافع حقوق بشر، نویسنده، روزنامهنگار و معاون و سخنگوی کانون مدافعان حقوق بشر در ایران است. او بیش از ۱۰ سال از عمر خود را در زندان سپری کرده و آخرین بار از آبان ۱۴۰۰ تا آذر ۱۴۰۳ در ارتباط با احکام متعدد جمعاً بیش از ۱۳ سال به اتهام «فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام» و «اجتماع و تبانی علیه امنیت کشور» زندانی بوده است. او تاکنون جوایز بینالمللی متعددی از جمله جایزه صلح نوبل ۲۰۲۳، جایزه آزادی مطبوعات گییرمو کانو یونسکو ۲۰۲۳، جایزه آزادی قلم انجمن قلم آمریکا ۲۰۲۳ و جایزه شجاعت خبرنگاران بدون مرز ۲۰۲۲ را دریافت کرده است.

Iran : la Coalition Free Narges alerte sur les menaces que ne cesse de recevoir Narges Mohammadi de la part d’acteurs affiliés au régime
Narges Mohammadi, lauréate du prix Nobel de la paix, a reçu une série de menaces graves contre sa vie et sa sécurité émanant d’agents affiliés au ministère iranien du Renseignement. Le Comité de pilotage de la Coalition Free Narges a reçu ces informations et exprime sa plus vive inquiétude face à ces menaces, directes comme indirectes, qui font courir un grave danger à Narges Mohammadi. Le Comité appelle les autorités iraniennes à garantir sa sécurité.
Cette vague de menaces, qui a commencé le 13 juin, s’inscrit dans le contexte de la guerre entre Israël et l’Iran du 13 au 25 juin 2025, ainsi que d’une répression plus large visant les militants et les voix dissidentes, documentée récemment par Front Line Defenders, PEN America, les experts des Nations unies et d’autres organisations.
Narges Mohammadi a reçu des menaces indirectes, notamment contre sa vie et sa sécurité, de la part du ministère du Renseignement iranien (MOI) les 19, 21 et 25 juin 2025. Dans un cas, une ancienne détenue lui a rapporté que le MOI lui avait communiqué des informations faisant état d’“acteurs voyous”, non contrôlés par le ministère, qui chercheraient activement à localiser Narges Mohammadi dans le but de “l’éliminer” dès qu’ils la trouveraient. Par ailleurs, une autre connaissance de Narges Mohammadi a fait part d’un troisième message du MOI, toujours par voie indirecte, indiquant qu’un projet visant à “l’éliminer” était en cours.
Le 7 juillet 2025, l’avocat de Narges Mohammadi a reçu un appel téléphonique du MOI mettant en garde la défenseure des droits humains contre la tenue d’interviews auprès de médias, la mobilisation de groupes de défense des droits, la publication de déclarations ou toute autre activité en lien avec les droits humains et la liberté d’expression. Les agents ont menacé Narges Mohammadi d’une “nouvelle approche” et ont demandé à son avocat de lui transmettre le message selon lequel il n’y aurait désormais plus de “compassion islamique” à son égard.
Début juillet 2025, des défenseurs des droits humains et des proches de Narges Mohammadi ont été convoqués par le MOI. Ils ont été menacés d’arrestation et d’emprisonnement, ainsi que leurs proches, s’ils continuaient à lui offrir hébergement ou à la côtoyer .
“Les menaces récentes visant Narges Mohammadi marquent une escalade dramatique dans les tactiques employées pour réduire au silence l’une des voix les plus courageuses et emblématiques de la défense des droits humains en Iran. Le droit de tous les Iraniens à s’exprimer librement, à appeler à la paix et à dénoncer les menaces pesant sur les prisonniers politiques et les civils en temps de guerre ne devrait pas faire d’eux des cibles. Nous exhortons les autorités iraniennes à garantir la sécurité de Narges Mohammadi et à assurer que sa vie n’est pas en danger. Par ailleurs, nous réitérons notre appel à sa libération définitive et inconditionnelle, elle qui avait été injustement emprisonnée pour avoir exercé sa liberté d’expression et défendu les droits humains. Il revient à tous les États et à la communauté internationale de s’engager à protéger les défenseurs des droits humains dans ce contexte d’escalade.”

La lauréate du prix Nobel bénéficie d’une suspension de peine depuis décembre 2024, après avoir subi une opération chirurgicale à la mi-novembre. Ses médecins ont recommandé une période de convalescence prolongée afin de lui permettre de se rétablir, de surveiller une lésion osseuse à la jambe, et de suivre un traitement spécialisé pour des troubles cardiaques ainsi que d’autres problèmes de santé aggravés par ses longues périodes de détention. Depuis sa libération temporaire début décembre, Narges Mohammadi est ciblée par une campagne de harcèlement en ligne et de désinformation orchestrée par l’État, réclamant son retour en prison – voire son transfert vers un centre de détention hors de Téhéran aux conditions sanitaires précaires – en représailles à son activisme et à ses prises de parole persistants.
Narges Mohammadi est défenseure des droits humains, autrice, journaliste, et directrice adjointe et porte-parole du Centre des défenseurs des droits humains (DHRC) en Iran. Elle a passé plus de dix ans de sa vie en prison, dont la période la plus récente entre novembre 2021 et décembre 2024, en raison de condamnations totalisant plus de 13 ans pour des accusations telles que “propagande contre l’État” ou “collusion contre la sécurité nationale”. Elle a reçu de nombreuses récompenses internationales saluant son engagement inlassable pour les droits humains, notamment le prix Nobel de la paix 2023, le prix mondial de la liberté de la presse UNESCO/Guillermo Cano 2023, le PEN/Barbey Freedom to Write Award 2023 et le prix RSF du courage 2022.
