FADE IN:

EXT. DARK SKYNIGHT

The Banshee soars high through the clouds. She sharply swings around a hillside and then down a deep and dark cavern. Her wild flight finally ends. At the bottom of the cavern, she begins sniffing hard in all directions.

BANSHEE

Where be ye, ancient evil?

(sniff)

T’is the first, ye evil smells like, an’ t’is the strongest to the senses.

(deep sniff)

Ye scent be strong …

(She constantly surveys the room.)

BANSHEE

Ye be here, hidden in t’is dwelling. Show ye self, for me be here to do ye no harm, but to surrender me’ self for ye help only.

Deafening silence while she looks around the room curiously.

BANSHEE

Leaving t’is not me option … Mine enemy seeks me, an’ will trace me steps here. They come here an’ a fight to the death be the course—

(looking around)

A fight here, in ye dwelling!

Deafening silence as she continues surveying the room.

BANSHEE

T’is strong Wiccan, me enemy be, an’ she an’ hers will discover ye dwelling an’ kill ye as well.

A woman appears.

WOMAN

I am Lilith. How do you know of this place?

BANSHEE
(prideful)

Me powers come from ancient evil as well. Consumed by evil, me be. Forged by evil as well. Me be Banshee.

A rhythmic squeal of laughter emits from Lilith for several seconds.

The Banshee’s expression turns angry just for a moment.

LILITH

You are the Banshee?

More laughter from Lilith.

LILITH

You are not evil—

Lilith’s ragged clothes begin to flutter and her eyes flash red, as her demeanor changes to that of wild rage.

LILITH

CHILDREN KILLED YOU!

The Banshee remains emotionless and Lilith calms herself.

LILITH

What do you want here, Banshee? I have nothing for you. I cannot help you do anything to …

(demented cackle)

children! What do you want? I am beyond ancient—Beyond helping anyone do anything.

BANSHEE

Ye must be able to—

LILITH
(rage)

I CANNOT HELP YOU, WOMAN! GO FROM HERE! I CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU, I’M THE FIRST WOMAN!

(solemnly to self)

I am Lilith Anacrusis, the first woman …

Her head goes down as she turns away from the Banshee.

LILITH

I am the first woman, cursed by the Maker Himself …

She hugs herself and begins to oddly sway from side to side.

LILITH
(demented cackle)

Cursed to never witness Gabriel’s dawn …

(demented cackle)

Cursed to eat ashes…

(demented cackle)

forever.

She stops her swaying and her hands go to her sides. Slowly she turns to meet the Banshee’s gaze.

LILITH

Banshee, you don’t know who I am, do you?

BANSHEE

Ye be right.

LILITH

You don’t even know what I am, do you?

BANSHEE

Nay.

LILITH

Do you know the story of Adam and Eve, Banshee?

BANSHEE

Aye.

LILITH

Yes, of course you do. There’s another story that some tell about the beginning. This story starts before the precious Eve was made.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT.—BEAUTIFUL OPEN FIELD—DAY

A naked man lies in the field next to a naked woman. Both are waking up. They look at each other oddly. A loud voice, emitting from the sky, speaks:

VOICE

BEHOLD. THIS IS WOMAN, FROM YE RIB I MAKETH HER. YE WILL CALL HER LILITH. TAKE HER, FOR SHE IS YE WIFE …

Both look to the heavens.

VOICE

SHE WILL OBEY YE, FOR SHE EXIST TO SERVE YE.

Lilith scowls.

Adam takes Lilith by the hand. They smile at each other and walk away.

DISSOLVE BACK TO CAVE

LILITH

I chose not to serve man …

The Banshee remains motionless, and emotionless, as Lilith begins a slow pace in front of her.

LILITH

I disobeyed my Creator by refusing to serve man—Adam …

LILITH

… as I was commanded by him.

LILITH

For that sin—For the first sin in all His creation, I was banished …

Her stoop becomes more pronounced as her head somehow lowers further.

LILITH

I was cast out of the Garden of Eden and replaced by her—Eve.

She begins BARKING between her words.

LILITH

I wondered the barren—

(bark)

earth for hundreds—

(bark)

of years, all a-LONE!

She barks.

LILITH

Until I was spoken to by the beauty of Lucifer.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT.—DESOLATE FLATLANDS—DAY

LILITH (V.0.)

I was not sure if his voice was created by my mind or not.

The younger version of Lilith meanders naked across a large gravel plain. She has a leg wound.

STRANGE VOICE (O.S.)

Why doest ye allow ye’self sufferance?

LILITH

I am Lilith. I have disobeyed the Creator.

STRANGE VOICE (O.S.)

Yet, the need to doest without is a matter of ye own choice?

LILITH
(stops toiling walk)

Who art thou who speakest? Be ye phantom of mine mind, or, ye be true?

STRANGE VOICE (O.S.)

I be true, and wilst show ye beauty beyond beauty. Cast ye eyes skywards.

She glances into the sky, squinting with difficulty.

LILITH

Thou art the Creator!

MAN

Nay! I am Lucifer, the Creator’s creation, just as thou art.

LILITH

But, ye be beautiful, and powerful.

He reaches down and takes her small hand into his.

LUCIFER

Thou art beautiful; the vessel of mine offspring …

A small, green apple is handed to her.

LUCIFER

Take and eat, for ye be at death’s presence.

She takes the fruit.

LILITH

From what plant does this fruit yield from? I’ve never seen such a fruit—

He nudges her hand with the fruit towards her mouth.

LUCIFER

Eat, so ye may not know death this day …

She eats the fruit.

LUCIFER

This fruit yields from the forbidden tree of life …

As she eats, she appears to gain in strength.

LUCIFER

Ye will never know death …

All bruises and cuts instantly heal on her.

LUCIFER

I will show ye the secrets of this world and the mysteries of the Heavens above, where the Creator dwelleths, and below, where the Creator hast cast me and mine …

He pulls her close to his body.

LUCIFER

Come, so that I may know ye as my first wife.

DISSOLVE BACK TO CAVE

Lilith sits in a corner of the cave playing with a piece of her matted hair like a child.

LILITH

I bore him no children. And, after 252 years, he grew bored with me and left. One hundred and seventy-three years passed before Cain found me …

She stands and walks to the Banshee, staring oddly at her face.

LILITH

He took me to be his wife. But, after I knew him, I was cursed with the affliction of vampire because I ate from the tree of life. I cannot touch the sunlight, lest I burn a terribly painful death without dying. Every piece of food I place into my mouth turns to ashes just as it touches my lips. I may only drink the blood of fresh animals …

She leans in close to the Banshee, almost touching noses.

LILITH

…or humans.

Lilith stares at the Banshee’s neck, licking her crusty lips seductively.

BANSHEE

Ye be vampire, then?

LILITH

Yes … The first.

BANSHEE

Can ye make me immortal as ye be?

LILITH
(surprised)

You want me to take you?

BANSHEE

Aye.

LILITH

Without a fight?

BANSHEE

Aye, vampire. Make me as yours.

LILITH
(stepping away)

There is nothing you won’t do for your revenge, then?

BANSHEE

Aye. Take me now …

(tilts head to one side)

… for the hour t’is late—Time’s running out.
