The Book Ban Fight: From Stories to Strategy

A collage featuring books labeled banned, caution tape over a stack of books, a megaphone, the Florida capitol, a banner reading Let Our Kids Read, and a Florida map with a red pin. Text: The Book Ban Fight. From Stories to Strategy.

Censorship is reaching unprecedented levels across Florida. Books are being pulled from classrooms and libraries, educators are being silenced, and students are being denied the right to read and think freely. Florida has become the testing ground for these efforts — and the fight back must start here.

The Book Ban Fight: From Stories to Strategy, a one-day convening in Orlando, is designed to strengthen our coalition, map the threats, and build the tools we need to resist.

This is not a panel or a conference. It is a working session — a space for those on the frontlines to connect, strategize, and generate action-oriented plans. Together, we will create a shared toolkit that can be adapted to various missions, uniting us around the common cause of defending the freedom to read, learn, and teach.

This convening is free to attend, and a limited number of scholarships are available to cover a one-night hotel stay if travel is a barrier. Lodging scholarships are due on October 14.
