Kicking off National Banned Book Week, this free event features GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Joanie Leeds, whose album FREADOM features songs inspired by children’s books banned in the state of Florida. In addition to a live musical performance, guests will enjoy live readings of banned children’s book titles, banned books will be available for sale, and families can participate in social actions to address educational censorship.

Joanie Leeds (GRAMMY Winning, NYC based singer-songwriter who grew up in Miami) is coming to Miami to perform a community concert of her FREADOM album, featuring songs inspired by children’s books banned in the state of Florida. In addition to a live musical performance, community members will enjoy live readings of banned book titles, banned children’s books will be available for sale, and families can participate in social actions to address educational censorship and book bans.
