Join us for an evening with Christian John Wikane as we take a stroll through memory lane under the disco lights. A Night at the Disco is a visual time capsule of 1970s nightlife told through a photo collection featuring over 100 artists. With exclusive comments and insights from some of the biggest names in disco, pop, funk, and punk, A Night at the Disco opens the doors to gritty underground clubs and global discotechques for all music lovers to revel in.

An RSVP grants general entry, but seating is not guaranteed. It is recommended that attendees arrive early.

Christian John Wikane is a NYC-based music journalist and essayist. Since 2003, he’s interviewed more than 600 recording artists, songwriters, and producers, including Paul McCartney, Janelle Monáe, Donna Summer, Pete Seeger, Annie Lennox, Maurice White, Jimmy Scott, Carly Simon, and Kenny Gamble. He and filmmaker Sekou Luke currently produce the video series “Unscripted: Conversations with Christian John Wikane,” which features his interviews with GRAMMY, Tony, and Emmy-winning artists, and have also produced “Unscripted Live” at the Apollo Theater, City Winery, and Lincoln Center (2024 “American Songbook” series). Christian’s also a contributing writer for PEOPLE Magazine and was Contributing Editor for PopMatters online magazine from 2006-2023.


William Johnson is the Director of PEN America’s Florida office. A longtime steward in the writing community, Johnson was the editor and publisher of Mary Literary, a literary magazine committed to showcasing work of artistic integrity. He also co-produced Nepantla: A Journal Dedicated to Queer Poets of Color, the first major anthology for queer poets of color in the United States. In 2011, Johnson began his tenure at Lambda Literary, an organization dedicated to promoting LGBTQ literature. As the deputy director of Lambda Literary, Johnson oversaw many of the organization’s most dynamic programs and public events, including the Writer’s Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices and Lambda’s web magazine, the Lambda Literary Review. In 2021, Johnson was awarded The Publishing Triangle’s Leadership Award, an award recognizing contributions to LGBTQ literature by those who are not primarily writers, such as editors, agents, librarians, and institutions.
