PEN America is an organization of writers and their allies, and that solidarity is never more important than when members of our literary community face crisis. Join us for our happy hour at Melody Wine Bar in celebration of the creative accomplishments of local PEN America members over the past year, as well as to provide support for those who have been impacted by the recent wildfires. As part of this year’s event, we will be supporting The Los Angeles Wildfires Book Drive. We kindly ask that you bring a favorite book in great condition to contribute to the project of rebuilding personal libraries lost by the recent wildfires. We are also continually collecting donations for our 2025 Los Angeles Wildfires Emergency Grant Program, which aims to support artists with immediate funds as they find their way through this moment.

Professional member who was published in 2024? Submit your work here to be featured in our 2025 New Year New Books Spotlight! You may only submit work that has been published in 2024. The slideshow will showcase the work of our incredible community, so that we all may celebrate each other together. Members are welcome to submit to the Los Angeles slideshow, in addition to the New York slideshow. Our team will put together a dedicated LA reading list on Bookshop.org, where your work will be added (if applicable).
