Tatyana Tolstaya’s most recent work is The Slynx. She is also the author of White Walls, a collection of short stories, and has written for numerous periodicals including The New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, and The New Republic. David Remnick served as a Washington Post Moscow correspondent for four years, an experience that formed the basis of his book on the former Soviet Union, Lenin’s Tomb, which received both the Pulitzer Prize for nonfiction and a George Polk Award for excellence in journalism. He is now editor of The New Yorker. Together they’ll discuss Tolstaya’s work, Russian literature, and the breakup of the Soviet Union.
