Idris Nurillah

Idris Nurillah is a Uyghur poet and small business owner who ran a wine shop. In the fall of 2017, he was detained, his shop was shut down, and his family and friends have received no news of him since. Nurillah had published his own poetry and completed the first full Uyghur translations of Nietzsche’s On the Genealogy of Morals and The Birth of Tragedy shortly before his disappearance. His poems have also been translated into English by American scholar Joshua Freeman.
