D. Ka Lani Raposa is a forty-five year old Native American spiritual practitioner presently incarcerated at California State Prison, Soledad. A former drug addict with over three decades of substance abuse, Ka Lani now devotes his time to sharing those experiences through his writing, spoken word, and music with the hope of helping others struggling with addiction. He paroles in 2013 after a lengthy eight-year sentence and looks forward to working as a street level drug counselor.

A Fine, Fine Day
I It was too late for the Avenue so I headed downtown to the corner of Jones and Eddy. There, the sidewalk is stain’d with the lives of the ones who were left behind. I stood on the corner in a vacuum just trying to catch some heat from the tailpipe of an idle taxi.
