I was born and raised in Los Angeles county. I, along with illustrator Christian Jenning, have written State of Corrections, a 31-chapter, 40,000-word manuscript that includes the 2008 PEN 1st Place-winning essay on prison suicide, Check Out Day. At various times, I have been the Folsom, San Quentin, and Soledad prison ping pong champion, and am an avid softball player that included a recent six-year winning streak pitching for the Creekside Dodgers. I was convicted of 2nd degree murder and sentenced to 22-life for shooting one of two men that broke into my home. I am 6’011 tall, weigh 210 lbs., and am single. I will be happy to answer all mail from anyone who found Check Out Day interesting, and can be contacted by writing:
