Robert Stone was a novelist best known for his chronicles of Vietnam, the counterculture, and the sixties.
His novels included Dog Soldiers, A Hall of Mirrors, A Flag for Sunrise, Children of Light, Outerbridge Reach, Bear and His Daughter, Damascus Gate, and Bay of Souls. He published a memoir, Prime Green: Remembering the Sixties, in 2007.
He was the recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship, the PEN/Faulkner Award, and the 1975 National Book Award for his novel Dog Soldiers.
