Dorothy Allison was born in Greenville, South Carolina and makes her home in North California, with her partner Alix, and her teenage son, Wolf Michael. Her books include Bastard Out of Carolina (1992), Cavedweller (1997), Two or Three Things I know for Sure (1995) and She Who (2009). A winner of the Robert Penn Warren award for fiction, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Fellowship of Southern Writers.
