Colson Whitehead

Colson Whitehead was born and raised in New York City.

His writing has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Harper’s and Salon. He is the author of several books: The Intuitionist, John Henry Days, The Colossus of NewYork and Apex Hides The Hurt. His latest novel, Zone One, was published in October 2011.

Whitehead is a recipient of a MacArthur Genius Fellowship. He lives in Brooklyn and is a member of the Board of Trustees of PEN American Center.
