Poet and musician Qasem Bahrami was detained in September 2021 on unknown charges, most likely due to his original poems and online readings of verses that criticize the government. Released on bail on November 14, 2021, he was rearrested on January 16, 2022. He was given an 11-year prison sentence by the end of the year and is currently in Zahedan Prison.
