A columnist, playwright, and political satirist, Al-Zoubi is facing continued harassment for his work. In March 2022, his vehicle was intercepted on his way to the airport, and he was detained and his personal items confiscated. He was later released. On March 12, 2023, he was summoned to court months after he published a Facebook post critical of government officials. He was sentenced to 1 year in August 2023.
