Yahya, a Palestinian novelist born in 1988 in Jenin, Palestine, currently resides outside of Palestine. His 2016 novel, Crime in Ramallah, was banned by Palestinian authorities for its depiction of LGBTQ+ themes and political content. Facing death threats from conservative factions and fearing arrest, Yahya has lived in exile since 2017, residing in various Middle Eastern and European countries. He remains very active on his Twitter account.
