Journalist and author Ramos was arrested with his team after conducting an abruptly suspended interview with President Maduro of Venezuela in February 2019. They were detained by government officials, who took their cameras and phones to keep the interview from being aired. Ramos later recovered the footage through confidential sources. He published a book, 17 Minutes, about the incident. In 2022, he launched an interview series with TelevisaUnivision. He continues to write and report on issues of censorship and political repression in Latin America.
