Ofir Touché Gafla was born in 1968 in Israel. His five novels, The World of the End, The Cataract in the Mind’s Eye, Behind the Fog, The Day the Music Died, and The Book of Disorder, have garnered great acclaim. He won the Geffen Award and the Kugel Award for his first novel, and Israel’s Prime Minister’s Prize for Literature in 2014. His short stories have been featured in numerous anthologies and magazines. He teaches creative writing at Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem and has recently been a visiting professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
