Dmitry Strotsev publishes poetry as a preserver of the “Minsk school of poetry” and has written poetry about the August 2020 Belarusian election and subsequent violence against protesters. On October 21, 2020, he was abducted with a bag over his head, detained, and was brought to interrogation at the KGB. He had been publishing poetry critical of the Belarusian government on Facebook prior to his detention. He was ultimately convicted to 13 days of administrative arrest.
