Vinahradau is a Belarusian activist and online commentator who ran a popular Telegram channel. The channel was declared "extremist" by the authorities, and as a result, Vinahradau was detained on December 22, 2021. He was charged with incitement to hatred, slander against the President, and other offenses. In 2022, he was sentenced to five years in prison. His appeal was denied, and the original sentence was upheld by the court, leaving him imprisoned under harsh conditions. He contracted tuberculosis and lost over 80 pounds while in prison. Vinahradau was released in September 2025 in a mass pardon. He was forcibly deported to Lithuania as a condition of his release.
