A literary writer, Poyraz is best known for his controversial views on the ruling AKP party and the faith-based Gülen movement. He wrote a best seller titled “The Children of Moses,” which accused Erdogan and his wife of being secret agents plotting with Israeli Intelligence to undermine Turkish secularism. On April 12, 2022, he was severly attacked outside his home and suffered serious injuries.
