Radi is an award-winning investigative journalist and activist. He was arrested in December 2019 for a tweet criticizing a verdict against protesters. In March 2020, he was given a four-month suspended sentence and fined. In July 2021, he was convicted of espionage and rape and sentenced to six years in prison after an unfair trial widely criticized by rights groups. His final appeal was rejected in July 2023.
