Marytza K. Rubio

Marytza K. Rubio is a writer from Santa Ana, CA. Her writing has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Slice Magazine, Kweli, and several anthologies. Marytza’s debut collection of short stories, Maria, Maria, is forthcoming from Liveright in winter 2022. Rubio is a 2008 PEN Emerging Voices Fellow and the founder of Makara Center for the Arts, a nonprofit arts organization currently offering mail-order library services to readers living in the United States.
