Samuel Peter Oyay

Samuel Peter Oyay is a South Sudanese columnist and online commentator who was detained in Dubai on September 30, 2025 by security personnel during a home raid, reportedly over “security” reasons linked to his writings. He was held without formal charges and his family was initially given no clear information about his legal status or whereabouts. As of March 27, 2026, there is still no confirmed report of his release, and he is presumed to remain in detention with ongoing incommunicado conditions and restricted family contact.
