Saeedeh Shafiei

Saeedeh Shafiei, an Iranian journalist and literary writer, was arrested on January 23, 2023, in connection with the Mahsa Amini protests and later sentenced in August 2023 to 4 years and 3 months for collusion and propaganda, with her social media posts cited. She was released on bail, reimprisoned, and later released in February 2025 after serving part of her sentence. In July 2025, her SIM card was blocked and she was forced to sign a pledge that she would post pro-government content.
