Mustapha Bendjama

Mustapha Bendjama is an Algerian journalist and online commentator who has faced repeated prosecution linked to his journalistic work and publications. He was released in April 2024 after over a year in detention but continued to face new legal proceedings, including trials and appeals in 2025–2026. In February 2026, he was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine, and is currently contesting the decision while also facing additional pending charges related to alleged dissemination of information harmful to national interest and public order.
