Mesaed Al-Musaileem

Mesaed Al-Musaileem is a Kuwaiti activist and online commentator who has faced multiple convictions in absentia and ongoing legal persecution linked to his activism and social media activity. After years of legal cases and prison sentences in Kuwait, he left the country in 2015 and later sought asylum in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he faced extradition proceedings and movement restrictions. Despite a 2023 pardon list, he was forcibly returned to Kuwait in May 2025 via deportation facilitated by a contested INTERPOL notice and has been held in detention since his return.
