Marjan Ardeshirzadeh is a cultural activist and translator. She was detained in August 2025 along with a group of other writers and figures affiliated with left-wing publisher Samandar Press. She was held incommunicado and was denied visits with family members for months. Ardeshirzadeh was released on bail along with colleague Parnia Rostami in October 2025.
