Donya Hosseini

Donya Hosseini is a blogger from Khuzestan. She was active in the 2022 Mahsa Amini protests, where she was briefly arrested. In August 2023, she was arrested on charges of “national security,” “incitement,” and "propaganda” reportedly stemming from her writing online. She was given a 5-year suspended sentence in November and released in December. In June 2025, amidst Iran’s Twelve-Day War with Israel, Hosseini was arrested in a home raid. She was released on bail in August. In November, she was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison for “propaganda against the regime to strengthen Israel.” She remained free at the time, but reported that she was summoned to serve her sentence in December. She was arrested and imprisoned to serve the sentence in February 2026.
