A.S. King is an award-winning novelist, a poet, a public speaker, a professor, and a lot of other things. She is the author of Attack of the Black Rectangles, which Kirkus Reviews called “a searingly relevant opus to intellectual freedom,” and her most recent novel for adults and young adults was Pick the Lock, which BCCB called “a worthy literary heir to feminist novels like The Stepford Wives.” When she’s not hiking through the woods or making delicious food, she travels the world talking to people about literacy and the mental health of young people.
